WHERE IS THE INFORMATION HIGHWAY

What ever happened to "information highway" which we call the world wide web? The web used to be known for its useful information that was based on facts? All it is now is wrong information and sales. It was realized that you could use dead space for advertising. Such as, the left and right side of each web page, including headers and footer. That is all fine and good but then people went a step further and started providing wrong info that people are basing their lives or business on. The attributes that attracted me to the web early on are hard to find anymore. The ability to find useful and educational information on anything, history, business, movies, etc. And now mostly what you come across is pushy network marketers. Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with making a fortune, as I am a network marketer. I own my business and I enjoy it, but I don't try to push my opportunities and products down everyone's throat. I enjoy meeting new people. I enjoy meeting new webmasters and I have a passion to help those that want a better life. I have a passion to provide people with the information they are needing, the correct information. I come across alot of forums, blogs and sites with opinions and not facts, but they will claim they are facts. Or have you seen all the sites that just have junk on them?

I was surfing last week and came across a site that I just absolutely fell in love with. It reassured me that the "information highway" is still active! You just have to sift a little harder thats all. The site is called ABANDONED BUT NOT FORGOTTEN here is the link abandonedbutnotforgotten
The site has a listing of old places, buildings, and items and shows the pictures. You can select the state and view all the pictures or you can just look through all of them, I spent close to an hour on the site. I found my state (west virginia) interesting. The site had pictures of an old state hospital on it, it had several pictures of the inside and they were high quality pictures. I was so impressed with the site that I think I will take a drive to Weston, where the hospital is to take more pictures. and if I come across more pictures of other things I will send them to the webmaster. The site was also easy to navigate through!

I am so glad I came across the site because like I said, it reassured me that there still are information sites out there. Kudos goes to Ron Donald for his accomplishment and sharing the pictures and history with the world in all of ours mutual friend The World Wide Web!
